I am a big fanOF Peter welsh so I was excited to get this book.however as an registered nurse I have seen numerouscardiac arrests from people who partake in cold showers-which serves to constrict the arteries. They don't call it hot yoga for nothing....moving right along to the exercise about jogging with your mouth open?NOT beneficial as the nose serves to moisten the air and more calories are burned wheh you exercise while breathing through the nose.....the advice telling YOU to keep a journal. ...well I did that for fifteen years..they added to my clutter so I threw them out....as for the rest of the book...Living with one cup and one fork is not quite my style...think I will stick with Peter welsh! !
I love to get to know other cultures and this book does that! The book allows you to step into another culture and see how they see things. It allows yo to understand why, and gives you the burning question in your mind" should i be thinking like this". This book has helped me think about material items differently and i know its weird, but it has made cleaning and straightening my house so much easier because there is less clutter. It is easier for me to let go of things and actually enjoy what I already have. I know this only one step into my adult journey in life, but I do enjoy this step way more then I thought I would
Great afternoon read, will definitely be giving this lifestyle a shot. The appeal of a lower stress life brought on by this practice is what lead me to this, and so far its working nicely. Admittedly, having a pup that likes to chew on things kind've helped in dealing with the clutter also lol.
It was a quick read but most of it seemed like the Spark Notes for Marie Kondo books which is not cool. Save yourself the time and just go buy Maries books, she explains it better. Some of the day suggests were a little strange, like the cold bath? but if you need a cheap way to get your life to a minimalist level this book will work. Or just google how to be a minimalist, because that is pretty much what this book is giving you.
I think this book is fantastic. I appreciate how it is written. I can't wait to read it again & practice the steps.
It felt like most of the book is missing. Very short, does give you thirty steps, but not much else.
It was not very helpful, at least to me. It skimmed over topics quickly not giving resolve. I think it could be more in depth.
I found it less helpful than I had hoped. It's basically a statement of the steps in a "30-day" process, with relatively little elaboration on how each step is accomplished. Also each step, at least at our house, might take quite a bit longer than the amount of time they suggest.
