I am a want-to-be techie, but it doesn't come easily. This is the 3rd and current edition of this book.I tried other books to help me with my Note 4, but they assumed I knew more than I did. This book introduced me to the Android way of doing things and made it easy to understand!!! There are colored illustrations throughout the book. You can start from the beginning or jump to a specific topic, ie camera, widgets, maps, voicemail, being "digitally social." Whether you have a Note or a Samsung Galaxy, he makes reference to both of them. There is a great sense of humor woven through the explanations. I am so glad I purchased this book. I am finding my Android amazing!

When it comes to Smartphones I am the dummist of dummies. Thanks to this book I have all my contacts in my phone and can make a phone call and text my daughter. Now I can get the rest of my questions answered. The book will be worn out before I'm an expert. Love it.

Have great sound for the money, but the battery stopped keeping a charge after about a year, rendering these earphones worthless. I haven't figured out how to replace it yet.Update, so, it was fairly easy to get to the battery, but these geniuses soldered the battery to the board. I'm not a soldering expert unfortunately. 1 star for making it difficult to replace the most important part of the headphones!

I really needed this book because I finally broke down and got a smart phone at age 71. I'm not a tech newbie, and use three Kindles (one for reading, one for downloading movies and TV shows, and one for games, email and Facebook), as well as a PC. But I basically hate phones. Still, an Android phone is useful for travel, and getting on the internet where there is no Wi-Fi. This book serves my need exactly. It easily answers detail questions about how to get to a particular menu or change. It's great to keep around as a reference.

This book is somewhat helpful but it does not cover many intricacies of my particular provider's phones. Nor did I fully expect it to. The computer industry is full of brilliant designers who design wonderful features but the bottom line ($$$) apparently prevents the companies from publishing a full set of instructions for a specific piece of equipment that they sell. Very sad!

As an techno-phobe, my first smart phone would have been a struggle to understand and use. Without this reference book it would be hopeless.'I'm trying to overcome my aversion to reading instructions, stopping to ask directions and so on, and with the help of my collection of "for Dummies" guides, I'm overcoming this character defect.

As an older person, technology is fantastic but my memory isn't all that great. Having a book in my hand is so much more enjoyable than trying to get information online or writing it all down somewhere just to lose it. I love having manuals for future reference and re-reading things as I try to learn new things. This manual is perfect and I am learning a lot! Thanks!

Like all the For Dummies books this one gets quickly annoying for assuming we really are dumb. Taking two pages to cloyingly explain something that could've been covered in one or two sentences.Also (and not his fault I guess) different phones are different, no different manufacturers offer quite the same features and options. Still book going to Library Book Sale next week.
